1. Who We Are
Safe Environmental Group Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides asbestos surveying, removal, compliance, and demolition services across England, Scotland, and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at info@safe-environmental.co.uk or call 0161 524 3018.
2. The Data We Collect
When you book a survey or request a quote through our website, we collect the information you provide in the booking form: your full name, email address, phone number, property postcode, the service you are interested in, your preferred timescale, and any details you choose to give us about your property or the materials you are concerned about.
If you contact us by phone or email, we keep a record of that correspondence and the details you share so we can respond and manage your enquiry.
When we carry out work at your property, we collect the information needed to perform and document the job — including the property address, survey findings, photographs of affected areas, and the certificates and reports we produce.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, schedule and carry out surveys and removal works, produce the reports and certificates you commission, take payment, and meet our legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations as an HSE-licensed contractor.
Our legal bases under UK GDPR are: performance of a contract (or steps taken at your request before entering one) for handling enquiries and delivering services; legal obligation for statutory records relating to asbestos work and waste consignment; and legitimate interest for keeping basic records of past jobs and correspondence.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
Booking enquiries submitted through our website are stored in a secure database. Our website has secure hosting. Both act as data processors on our behalf under contractual terms that meet UK GDPR requirements.
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. It is a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service that does not track you across sites or build individual profiles.
5. Who We Share Data With
We share data only where necessary to deliver our services: with UKAS-accredited laboratories for sample analysis (samples are referenced by job, with minimal personal data), with licensed waste facilities for consignment documentation, and with regulators such as the HSE where the law requires notification of licensed work.
We may also disclose data where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
6. How Long We Keep It
Enquiry data that does not lead to a job is deleted within 12 months. Records relating to completed asbestos work — including surveys, reports, certificates, and waste consignment notes — are kept for the periods required by health and safety legislation, which can be up to 40 years for certain exposure-related records.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email info@safe-environmental.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it took effect.
